The Red Bull family has struggled with the RB20 for quite some time, but things seem to have improved—or have they? Max Verstappen weighs in on the RB20's improvements in front of GPBlog

Verstappen and Red Bull had a significant mid-season dip in results. However, after 10 races without a win, he bounced back to finish 1st during the Austin GP sprint. At the Brazilian GP, he made even further strides, gaining 16 places in one race. But is it the car, or has Verstappen adjusted to handle it?

Does RB20 still need improving?

After ending his winless drought, during which Red Bull lost its first-place lead in the constructor's championship, the RB20 looked like it had improved. Verstappen, however, mentioned there was still work to be done. He said, "Well, I mean, of course, we have made some improvements to the car since Austin. But there we were, still missing speed in the main race. Mexico was a pretty bad race."

Verstappen continued, "Hopefully, some things have changed since then, not necessarily on our part. I hope we can see the full race performance of each car in the last three races. We keep trying to improve the balance of the car. I think we were quite competitive during the sprint race in Brazil on a dry track. I am very happy to have won on Sunday [in Brazil]. It would also have been very nice to show the speed on a dry track in a full race."

Verstappen on Las Vegas GP

Finally, the Red Bull driver said, "Here [in Las Vegas], the weather is so different with the tyre temperatures that it is very important to understand the tyres and how they work or to make sure you work well on both compounds you use in the race. It's probably a bit more complicated than in the other race weekends."
