Verstappen went wild in Las Vegas: 'We threw something together'
Last weekend at the Las Vegas GP, Max Verstappen could secure his fourth Formula 1 world title against Lando Norris. Crossing the line in P5, but more importantly ahead of Norris, was enough for the Dutchman. A result that surely had to be celebrated.
Las Vegas on paper would be a great host to celebrate a world title, however, Verstappen ran into a small 'problem'. As the race started late and the Dutchman took his time to talk to the press at lenght, he finished a bit too late. " It [Vegas] is a great place. But I left the track at 4am... You can go to a club and everyone’s completely wasted already, so it’s not really that nice to join in. In that sense, it is not ideal.."
Verstappen helped by Martin Garrix
Luckily for Verstappen, there was a plan B, as there was a well-known DJ in his party who did know how to organise another quick party of his own. "But luckily my friend Martin Garrix was there. So we just organised something and I had some guys from the team as well. They joined in and we just had a great time all together, just having some drinks and laughing," Verstappen told The Times.
Thanks to George Russell, it is also known that Verstappen's party continued into the morning. As Russell left his hotel at 9am, he met the Red Bull driver, who was yet to go to sleep at the time.
