At 9:16 local time, Hamilton drove out of the garage in a Ferrari for the first time, the Italian team confirmed. The Sky Sports camera crew was also on hand to capture the moment, with presenter Craig Slater providing commentary as Hamilton emerged from the fog at the Fiorano circuit. Many fans travelled early to the circuit to get a good spot to watch the test. Photos shared on social media show that the first fans arrived at around 5 a.m. Even before dawn, at a still foggy Fiorano, hundreds, possibly thousands, of fans and photographers were already waiting along the circuit.

On Tuesday, Hamilton shared a picture of himself in a red Ferrari overall with the caption 'First time in red'. Now, he has unveiled his new helmet on social media. The caption simply reads 'And yellow'. The seven-time world champion has opted for a helmet in a classic Ferrari colour: yellow with red accents.
