Kevin Harvick once said that he believes that Kyle Larson is better than Max Verstappen. He has also said that he still thinks Larson would crush Formula 1 faster than Verstappen would crush Nascar, where both Harvick and Larson drive. However, that doesn't stop the American from wanting to see the Verstappen drive at Daytona.

Through a rule change that allows drivers from outside the NASCAR series to drive in the series, Harvick would love to see Verstappen take a stab at Larson through the 'Exemption Provisional' rule. He wants to see him at the Daytona 500 to compete against Larson.

“I would love to see the Max Verstappen-type situation at the Daytona 500 of sorts, with a Red Bull activation behind it. When you look at the whole thing, whatever the sponsor is, it is as important as anything else, because you want them to be behind the activation and promotion of what happens, as well.”

Harvick is of the mindset that NASCAR is a harder series than Formula 1. "I truly believe that our drivers make a better transition into IndyCar and F1,” Harvick said last season. “I think if we sent Kyle Larson and sent him to a Red Bull car right now, I think he’d go wheel-to-wheel with Max Verstappen. It wouldn’t take him long to figure it out.“I think if you flipped that switch and you sent Max to a stock car, I think it would take a lot longer."
