Famous Red Bull mechanic quits for 'exciting new role'

Calum Nicholas, a well-known figure in Max Verstappen's garage, is stepping down from his role as a mechanic at Red Bull Racing. Nicholas feels it is time to pursue a new challenge but will continue to be connected to the team in a different capacity, taking on the role of ambassador.
Red Bull mechanic Calum Nicholas gets a new role
From the 2025 Formula One season, Nicholas will no longer be a regular face in Red Bull's pit box. "The time has come to hang up my race suit," the Brit writes on X. "It's a career that I'm incredibly proud to look back on. To all of those who’ve been a part of this amazing journey, thank you!"
He continued: "For the last decade of my life I've been very fortunate to work with an incredible group of people, in a team like no other. So, today, I'm very pleased to announce that I'll be taking on an exciting new role, as a @redbullracing ambassador!"
Nicholas dedicated 13 years to working as a mechanic for Red Bull Racing, amassing a total of 15 years of experience in Formula 1. He became well-known for his candid presence on social media, where he often shared his opinions on various issues within the sport. Additionally, he made occasional appearances on podcasts. Nicholas is also an author, with his book titled Life in the Pitlane set to be released this month.
