It's still quiet. Very quiet. It is now the end of January 2022, but not a word has been heard from Lewis Hamilton since the last race in Abu Dhabi. Speculation about his future remains.

Need

NOS asked British Formula 1 reporter Jonathan Noble what he thinks of Hamilton's silence. According to the journalist, his silence illustrates the enormous frustration Hamilton feels. According to the Brit this demonstrates the need for changes within the FIA. "Saying nothing makes more impression than all the things Lewis could have said. The ball is in the FIA's court," Noble believes.

Of course, it's guesswork what's going on in Hamilton's head. According to Noble the seven-time champion has the feeling that the race in Abu Dhabi was manipulated. The annoyance about this is so great that Hamilton has completely cut himself off from everything and everyone.

Will Hamilton get over this disappointment and get back into his Mercedes soon? No one knows for sure. But Noble believes so, because Hamilton without racing? "That's very unlikely. Hamilton's whole life revolves around F1; he breathes Grands Prix."
