Red Bull Racing's junior programme is somewhat notorious for its ruthlessness. If you live up to expectations, a golden future may await you. If you disappoint, you probably won't stay long. The competition among the young talents is therefore enormous. Who is driving for Red Bull's junior team now, and what are their chances in 2023?

Red Bull Racing supports young talents in Formula 2, Formula 3, Formula 4 and several other racing classes. We've taken a look at the Formula 2 juniors to see which of them have the best chance of making it to the Alpha Tauri Formula 1 team, and maybe even eventually to the seat alongside Max Verstappen at Red Bull Racing.

Liam Lawson

Along with teammate Juri Vips, Liam Lawson competed on behalf of the Hitech Grand Prix team in Formula 2 in 2021. He will also compete in that class in 2022, but will make the switch to the Carlin team. The future looks bright for the still only 19-year-old New Zealander, who should make his big breakthrough in Formula 2 in the coming season.

Juri Vips

Vips will be at the start of his second full Formula 2 season in 2022. Last year, the 21-year-old driver from Estonia managed to score two victories in the class, so the goal will be to surpass that result. To earn a move to Formula 1, he will have to compete for the title, as the competition is deadly.

Dennis Hauger

Like Lawson and Vips, Dennis Hauger has also been part of the Red Bull junior team since 2018. The 18-year-old Norwegian was champion in Formula 3 in 2021, and is making the switch to Formula 2 this year. There he will compete on behalf of Prema Racing and hopes to live up to the high expectations.

Jehan Daruvala

The final Formula 2 driver on the list is Jehan Daruvala. The 23-year-old Indian will be starting his third season in Formula 2 in 2022, making the switch from Carlin to Prema Racing. His best result is seventh place, which he will have to surpass with his new team to stay in the race.
