Christian Horner thoroughly enjoyed Max Verstappen's race-winning overtake on Charles Leclerc on the 20th and penultimate lap of the sprint race at the Imola circuit. Leclerc seemed to be on his way to a victory and eight World Championship points, but in the end Verstappen managed to prevent that with a stellar move in his RB18.

Horner enjoys Verstappen

"Super. Really stuck at it. We had better deg. It was a good job by both drivers and Checo making up places. Good to start first and third tomorrow: Max did a good job not letting the front tyres open up like Charles", Horner said.

With Verstappen and Perez set to occupy the first and third starting positions for the Grand Prix, Red Bull are in a good starting position. Ferrari will be vulnerable with different tyre strategies, although it should not be forgotten that Carlos Sainz could also play a part starting in fourth position, by putting pressure on the front of the field.

It is to be hoped that the problems with starting will be solved by the race start. Verstappen captured pole position for the sprint race, but immediately let Leclerc past of him when the lights went out. According to Helmut Marko this was due to a synchronization error and it should be relatively easy to fix as it concerns the software.
