Max Verstappen immediately did good business on the opening lap of the Miami Grand Prix. The Dutch driver had a good start when the lights went out and immediately managed to pass Carlos Sainz. It's now all about his hunt on World Championship leader Charles Leclerc.

Sergio Perez failed to advance to third place. He is now looking straight into the back of Sainz. The big loser of the start is called Lewis Hamilton. The Mercedes driver started from sixth place, but he was immediately passed by Pierre Gasly and Fernando Alonso.

No funny stuff in opening lap

Miraculously, the start went off without any crashes, though Alonso had some contact with Hamilton. It means that for the time being, we have not yet seen a safety car in the United States.
