Honda want to have a "productive final day" of F1 testing
Toyoharu Tanabe, Honda's Formula 1 technical director, wants a "productive final day" in Barcelona before both Aston Martin Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri head to Australia for the opening Grand Prix of the season.
The Honda boss reports that both customer teams ran different set-ups through the day, which he suggests was helpful to gain a range of data.
"Once it had dried out and after working on car set-up for a few laps, AlphaTauri got on with a race simulation programme, doing a lot of running with different fuel loads. It went well and Pierre was able to complete 139 laps. Red Bull was working on a different programme, with both its drivers in the car today, doing shorter runs, changing car settings frequently and we ran our PU accordingly, which allowed us to test it in various conditions," Tanabe said.
"It will be important to have a productive final day tomorrow, before focussing on Melbourne and the first race of the year."
Both Max Verstappen and Alex Albon will be in the car tomorrow, while Daniil Kvyat has been given the full responsibility for the final day in the AlphaTauri garage.
