Lewis Hamilton has suffered quite a lot from the coronavirus. According to the Brit, he lost a lot of weight during that period, so it was not surprising that he was not quite as on form as he was in Abu Dhabi.
Hamilton tested positive for the coronavirus prior to the Sakhir Grand Prix and was therefore unable to participate in that race. Toto Wolff said that the seven-time World Champion was suffering from the virus and Hamilton's post on Instagram showed that.
Hamilton loses a lot of kilos
Indeed, in his Instagram Story, the British driver said that he had lost no less than six kilograms in the last two months, four of them during the period when he had COVID-19. He says it is starting from a low point to rebuild his strength, but he is determined to return to 100% of his strength.
In 2021, there is a chance for Lewis to win his eighth world title and break Michael Schumacher's record. Valtteri Bottas, however, will be keen on revenge and with Sergio Perez as a new driver alongside Max Verstappen, Red Bull Racing also hopes to really compete for the title with both drivers this year.
