Max Verstappen had to visit the medical centre on the circuit after his big crash. Once there, his phone started vibrating heavily as the race restarted and title contender Lewis Hamilton shot straight into the first corner. He also expects a strong Mercedes in the upcoming Grands Prix.

Mercedes often faster than they say

After two races on street circuits in Monaco and Azerbaijan, Formula 1 returns to traditional circuits in two weeks' time. "Mercedes will be strong on the normal circuits. They had some difficulties on the street circuits, but as you saw in Barcelona, they were mega fast," Verstappen told Sky Sports F1.

The Red Bull Racing driver thinks Mercedes don't always talk honestly about the speed of their car. "They have a strong car, even if they say they don't. We have to keep pushing. It's a shame because I wanted to make the gap bigger."

Hamilton's mistake seen on phone

The race resumed with a standing start after Verstappen's crash. At the time of that restart, the Dutchman was still in the medical centre. "Suddenly my phone vibrated. I thought 'what is happening here now' because I could hear the cars all of a sudden. When I could look on my phone, I saw that Lewis had a problem in Turn 1."
