Mercedes launched the W13 on Friday morning. With the new car, the German racing team hopes to regain the world title next season. George Russell had the pleasure of already taking a ride at Silverstone.

The Briton will be driving alongside his compatriot Lewis Hamilton next season. Where the seven-time world champion will still be part of the Mercedes team for at least two more seasons and will want to take the world title at least once more, it is mainly up to Russell to reach a constant level as quickly as possible.

Russell will not have an easy time of it, however. The driver performed excellently at Williams in 2021 and seems to have everything it takes to succeed in Formula 1, but past experience has shown on several occasions that it is not easy to work for a top team. In recent months Russell has been working hard behind the scenes to prepare for the race.

Russell already goes out on the track

Just before the test days in Barcelona, which are scheduled for this week, Russell drove a few laps at Silverstone. That was not easy for him, because England is currently suffering from heavy gusts of wind. Nevertheless, Russell could look back on a positive day.
