The so-called mini-DRS has been the topic of conversation in the paddock in recent times. Now, the FIA has been paying close attention to the wings in Australia and has decided to intervene, with the motorsport body announcing on Monday that it will carry out stricter tests from the upcoming race weekend at the Chinese Grand Prix

According to Auto Motor und Sport, it is no coincidence that the FIA has now turned its attention to the rear wings. According to the German paper, Red Bull already discussed the situation surrounding the rear wings with the FIA during the test days in Bahrain last month.

The Austrian team reportedly had no less than four teams listed during this conversation: McLaren, Ferrari, Alpine and Haas. If the reports are true, they may also be the ones who will be hit the hardest by these stricter guidelines.

Red Bull complaints in Bahrain

Red Bull technical director Pierre Waché also spoke out about the rear wings during the test days in Bahrain. Speaking to The Race at the time, he said: "It is still happening. I think Ferrari and McLaren are still applying this mini-DRS concept." So that the wings were already on Red Bull's radar, Waché predicted in the same interview that the subject would be up for discussion this season. "It will be a topic of discussion. It is quite visible."
